I was very honored and surprised when my friend asked me to help out with his processional. First thing I did was researched, "Filipino wedding processional" and "wedding processional". I find what I thought to be the perfect outline to the processional. I copied and looked at my friend's wedding website and arranged the names in the order it was supposed to go in. I arrived the day of the rehearsal and showed the arrangement to the bride. She had a few little changes and i adjusted to those changes. We started with the procession and everything went OK the first time. The Priest presiding the ceremony then spoke how the ceremony was going to go on. The second time around, there were some changes and there were some people in the bridal party that tried to manage the processional. I did my best and we did the processional the second time. After that, I joined the bridal party at their hotel.
The day of the wedding, I arrived early to help set up and meet some vendors for the wedding. The groomsmen and the groom arrived late. I started to get them ready to line up. The groom lines up and then the sponsors. The bridesmaids and the bride arrived. There was a little changed in the order, but I adjusted. I started the processional and everything went well. The ceremony started as usual. Everything went off without a hitch.
Having this my first experience, I realized that I should have spoken up more. I should have told the bridal party who I am and what to do. I should have told them how to walk and where to go when they go up on the altar. I should have researched more what a catholic ceremony entails. I should have spoken to the sponsors in what to do. I realized my mistakes and I am learning. I am glad for my first experience and I will use this as a stepping stone.
